The National Gallery of the Marches, at the Ducal Palace of Urbino, is one of the 20 Italian Museums that for their importance are endowed with special autonomy in scientific and organizational terms, including for example Villa Adriana and Villa D’Este and the Royal Museums of Turin.
“The layout designed by the architect Giacomo Ortenzi involved the creation of different types of display cases, including wall display cases, showcases in the middle of the room and display cases that fit into an interior arch of one of the rooms.
The wall showcases are made with a glass box with frontal opening and have been designed and built with some peculiarities. The first is that in the background are integrated LCD screens where the works are illustrated dynamically through videos and captions that tell the story of the objects contained in the showcase brasil-libido.com.
Moreover, inside the shelves are arranged in such a way as to be able to be varied in height to accommodate works of different sizes and thus over the years meet different needs of setting up.

The centre-room windows designed and built for the intervention are of two different types.
The first one with a case completely in Glass, with 360 degrees visibility that contains a plinth, which is the basis of the object on display, and a further model always with a glass case, but with uprights l that act as a support for the glass shelves that are mounted for the exhibition. A particular feature of these uprights is the use of plexiglass, which makes the structure completely transparent to the eye.
La scelta tecnico stilistica di estrema trasparenza e leggerezza delle vetrine, si é rivelata particolarmente appropriata per utilizzare degli spazi di luce ridotta mantenendo un equilibrio tra la necessita’ di ampie superficii espositive per l’esposizione delle opere e allo stesso tempo la volontá di accogliere il visitatore in uno spazio narrativo luminoso e piacevolmente fruibile.
This important new exhibition space was inaugurated on October 31st with the exhibition Raphael Ware: The colours of the Renaissance in Urbino. An exhibition that contains works related to Raphael: a nucleus of majolicas made on the engravings of his students and 147 other majolicas from important private collections.
